Dear parents and carers:

I hope you are all safe and healthy and keeping well during this challenging time.

On behalf of the governing body, I am writing to inform you that Mrs Dyer will be leaving our school at the end of the summer term. We would have preferred to tell you this news in person, but this has not been possible given the current health crisis.

After 6 years as Headteacher of our school, Mrs Dyer is moving to a Headship appointment closer to her home.

All of us: governors, staff, parents, carers and especially the children, will remember her deep regard and commitment towards our school, her dedication and her determination for all our pupils to achieve the best possible education.

With her unstinting efforts and enthusiasm, coupled with her focussed determination, she has led our school through many challenges.

She has been instrumental in helping us achieve two successful Ofsted judgements, improved results across all key stages and secured better outcomes for our children.

She has also initiated many events and occasions which have brought us together as a community in celebrating our many achievements and the richness of our diversity.

We thank Mrs Dyer for all that she has done for our school and we will miss her presence greatly.

Leading our school through the next chapter of its long history is Miss Yvonne Barnett, who has been appointed by the governing body to take over as headteacher from September. Miss Barnett is currently headteacher at a primary school in East London and we will be introducing you to her very soon.

The governing body will be formally thanking Mrs Dyer before the end of the summer term and we will share more details with you about this as soon as we can.

We trust you will join us in wishing Mrs Dyer all the very best in her new school.
