Thank you to the Friends of Burdett-Coutts!
Do your little bit of good where you are; it’s those little bits of good put together that overwhelm the world. ”
Dear parents and carers:
I hope you are all keeping safe and well during this time.
On behalf of the governing body, I would like to express my deepest appreciation for your continued commitment to our school. Your ongoing backing and support make a vast difference and we remain grateful for your contributions, large and small.
One of the many ways you have helped to support our school is through your fundraising efforts as members of our parent-staff association, Friends of Burdett-Coutts.
The Friends was set up in October 2015 to organise events and fundraise for the school to advance the education of all pupils. Your support of events like the International Evening, the Christmas Fair and the Summer Fair have realised vital funds for the benefit of all the pupils at our school.
Over the last 5 years, you have raised and generously donated over £15,000. This sum has gone towards paying for:
- cross-curriculum linked activities such as circus and theatre workshops
- enrichment experiences e.g educational trips and school visits by subject specialists
- re-surfacing the new playground
- new playground equipment
Regrettably, due to the ongoing health situation, we were unable to gather last month for what would have been our 5th annual Summer Fair. I’m sure you’ll agree with me that this would have been a wonderful and joyous opportunity for our community to come together.
Despite this, I hope that you will continue to support the Friends of Burdett-Coutts over the coming years, whether as a committee member or a volunteer, especially as their successes are only possible with your help and participation.
As a parent, carer or guardian of a child that attends our school, you are automatically a member of the Friends, so please consider getting involved and helping in the new academic year.
Now, more than ever, your support of our parent-staff association is crucial and vital.
In closing, I would like to thank the outgoing committee of the Friends of Burdett-Coutts for their hard work and collaborative efforts, not just this year but over the past few years. Their dedication and commitment have been instrumental in realising our school events and raising these much-needed funds.
For those of you who will re-join us in September, we look forward to supporting your initiatives and ideas for the coming year. Despite the setback brought about by the recent school closure, we know that you will continue to strive to raise donations to help our school.
To those of you leaving us, thank you for all that you have done and for the difference you have made during your time here. We wish you all the very best as you embark upon the next stage of your child’s education and hope you will remember us from time to time.
